ADLINK PXI-2501 Multifunction Data Acquisition Card
The ADLINK PXI-2501 is a multifunction DAQ card specifically designed for PXI systems. As such, it integrates Analog Output (AO), Analog Input (AI), Digital I/O (DI/O), and Timing Functions all within a single PXI Module. There are 4 voltage output channels with a resolution of 12 bits each with a very high update rate of 1 MS/s per channel. The ADLINK PXI-2501 also has programmable bipolar and unipolar output ranges such as 0–10V and ±10V, and it also has an 8K sample FIFO buffer for hardware-based arbitrary waveform generation. Due to this hardware-based capability, there will be less CPU load required for this capability; therefore, it can be used for complex, long-duration signal generation tasks directly from system memory.
For measurement applications, the PXI-2501 offers 8 single-ended analog input channels that have a resolution of 14 bits and can sample up to 400 kS/s. These inputs can accept the same programmable voltage ranges as outputs, and they are protected against overvoltage. The module further expands its utility with 24 channels of 5V/TTL-compatible digital I/O that can be programmed as either input or output and two 16-bit general-purpose timer/counter channels. To optimize data transfer, the ADLINK PXI-2501 uses Scatter Gather DMA for both analog input and output operations to ensure high-speed data throughput with minimal processor overhead.
Designed with test and measurement and motion control in mind this multifunction DAQ board can be used in HIL simulations as well. It can also sync all boards that are connected to it (via the System Synchronization Interface bus or PXI Trigger Bus) which makes it easy to make a scalable multi channel system. With support for many programming languages (LabView, Matlab, C/C++ etc.) the ADLINK PXI-2501 is designed to meet your industrial automation and data acquisition needs as an integrated DAQ/SIG generation board.
